#3 - Fishing, Overtnight stay - Torburnlea Trout Lodge - Machadodorp
We took a well-deserved mid-week and weekend break with Pete and Sandy, sneaking away for a three-night getaway to Torburnlea Trout Lodge. Pete had a connection with a well-stocked dam near Machadodorp, which set the stage for a fantastic long weekend on the water. We spent our time casting off the dam wall and even took a small boat out into the middle of the lake twice to try our luck. Set in a beautiful, quiet setting, it was the perfect escape from the daily work grind.

Keen to try out our new gear without traveling too far, we met up with Pete and Sandy for a day out at XFactor—a lovely little fishing spot hidden away in the hustle and bustle of Joburg. We paid our day fees, set up our rods, and enjoyed a relaxed day of casting, fishing, and snacking by the water.
